I am pleased to announce the publication of my new book Grandfather Speaks Again, the second in the Grandfather Speaks series.
This book is extremely personal for me, but I think the truths Grandfather taught me will resonant with each of you. After all, we are all just people. We all experience fear, anger, sorrow and joy. We all, from time to time, fail to come up to expectations; whether those expectations are someone else’s that has been imposed on us… or our private, personal expectations.
Here’s a question for you: Have you ever experienced a friendship that was solid and secure one morning and lost by that evening; and you had no idea why? Have you ever searched for answers only to find more questions?
Grandfather, the ancient Native American sage, has come back to visit and brought some friends this time. Together, we explore… is there more than one reality, is the reality that “real” people experience the only reality we have? Is everything else simply coincidental or accidental? Can our fictional heroes really impact or lives?
I have always felt that we, people, “try parts of other people on” to see if they fit. What does, we keep; what doesn’t, we discard. In the process, we become who we are supposed to be. Maybe nothing is coincidental or accidental…
Some of the “people” Grandfather brought me from the fictional world I have known most of my life. In fact, there are very few “real” people still in my life before I met these for the first time. “People” versus “real” people… what does it take to make a person?
How real is a thought? How real is a memory? How real is right and wrong?
How long does a wound bleed or a broken heart hurt?
In one of the darkest periods of my life, Grandfather and his friends—my friends—brought me some ageless truths that might also lift your heart and open your eyes. The funny thing is there are two stories in this book: One that I wrote and one that was being written without my knowledge. I thought when I finished my story the book was done, that it was complete.
But that’s when tragedy and magic combined to shift the “real” story to a level… to a plane of existence… I never conceived of.
